Teddy Breedlove is a textile artist based in New York City. He has a background in Furniture and Surface Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD, 2021)
His work explores textiles as an “Alternative Canvas,” creating statement pieces that blur the lines between art and design.
He is captivated by the dynamic relationship between self and space, and how our environments shape us and reflect our inner lives. Whether it's the familiar corners of a home, a public park, or the vibrancy of an urban street, the spaces around us are never passive; they actively participate in our emotional and psychological experiences. Every object we place, every color we choose, and every pattern we create leaves an imprint, and in turn, these environments influence our thoughts, behaviors, and sense of identity. In his work, he explores this continuous dialogue between space and self, reflecting on how we shape our surroundings and how those surroundings, in return, shape us.
His materials choice is carefully curated, responsibly sourcing the highest quality deadstock leathers and textiles.
Teddy seeks to envision works that not only adorn a space but spark conversation and evoke emotion, transforming everyday objects into elements of personal expression.
